Missions

Mafia tells the story of Tommy Angelo through a series of 20 missions set in the American metropolis of Lost Heaven in the 1930s. Each mission is a standalone chapter—from an unassuming taxi ride to a dramatic conclusion that will rewrite everything you thought you knew.

Objective: Get Paulie and Sam to Salieri’s bar.

It’s 1930. Tommy Angelo—a simple taxi driver—stumbles upon two men fleeing from someone one night. They are Paulie and Sam, members of the Salieri family. Tommy helps them escape, without realizing what he’s setting in motion. The next day, three of Morello’s men show up to “thank” him—Tommy is given an ultimatum: work for Salieri, or lose both your car and your life.

Tommy za volantem taxíku

As soon as Paulie and Sam get into the taxi, you drive off immediately. A faster enemy car is chasing you— you can’t outrun it in a straight line. Strategy: Steer it into oncoming traffic and poles. The most effective tactic is to let it crash into a tram—that will destroy it instantly. Once the car is destroyed, use the map and navigate to Salieri’s bar.

The mission serves as both a tutorial and a prologue—the atmosphere of the city at night with jazz on the radio immediately sets the tone for the entire game.

Objective: Survive the attack by Morell’s men and make it to Salieri’s Bar.

The mission begins with you picking up fares as a taxi driver. After five fares, you’ll stop for coffee— that’s when Morell’s men will attack. As soon as you regain control, immediately run straight away from the enemies.

Escape route:

Turn right into the alley (the green arrow shows you the way)—don’t run in a straight line; you’ll be an easy target. Go through the alley, turn left past the “Rose Bar” sign. Enter the next alley, turn left, and go up the stairs. Turn right, then left, and go down the stairs before you reach the next man. On the street, turn left, enter the alley, go through the tunnel (you’ll see a girl on the phone). Turn left out of the tunnel and enter Salieri’s Bar — you’re safe.

Objective: Destroy Morello’s cars in the parking garage.

After collecting the Molotov cocktails, drive to Morello’s garage and park next to it. Go down the alley to the back and use the crowbar to open the gate. Take out the guard with a baseball bat—you can take his gun. Damage one car with the bat; set the remaining two on fire with Molotov cocktails. Quickly drive back to Salieri’s Bar.

Objective: Collect payments at various locations around the city.

Leave the meeting room and talk to Ralph about the car. Go up the stairs to see Vincenzo for a weapon. Get in the car—Paulie and Sam will join you. The first two stops will go smoothly.

The third stop is Clark’s motel — Paulie will get shot and go outside. Head left around the building and shoot the dog. Climb onto the crates in the back and enter the second floor through the unlocked door. Go through the door on the far right and shoot the man in the bathroom. Quickly enter the next room and grab the Tommy gun. Turn around and shoot the 3 men running down the stairs, then the 3 men in the main room.

One man will grab the money and flee in a car—chase him. Best tactic: force him into a head-on collision, then block his path with your car, get out, and shoot him.

Objective: Win the race and steal a car for Bertone.

Drive to the race track in the west of the city. Talk to the guard at the gate, let him get in, and drive into the garage. Get into the race car and carefully drive it across the city to Bertone—not a scratch, and no police. After he’s modified it, return it to the garage.

Race: The next day, they’ll call you back to the track. You have to win a 5-lap race. Focus on maintaining first place; don’t drive too aggressively at the start—save your energy. After winning, visit Bertone, steal the marked car in the town hall parking lot, and return to the bar.

Tip: Avoid contact with other racers in the first few laps. Go all out in the final lap.

Objective: Safely escort Sara home.

Luigi, the bartender, will ask you to look after his daughter. Leave the bar and go with her. Soon, three thugs will attack you—grab the wooden pole on the right and beat them up. A moment later, another pair will attack—do the same. Once they’re all unconscious, continue with Sara until you reach her home.

Objective: Clear out the enemy forces in Chinatown.

Visit Vincenzo for a bat and a pistol. Go to Chinatown to see Biff— he’ll direct you to an old gas station.

On site: Enter with the baseball bat — take out 2 men, then another 3. Go through the alley, climb the stairs, cross the platform, and climb down. The next group has firearms—as soon as the first one fires, draw your pistol and shoot them all. Go out onto the street; you’ll see a fleeing car—chase it or force it to roll over, so Paulie can shoot.

Objective: Escape the brothel and fight your way through the church.

Go to Corleone’s brothel—hide your weapon before entering. Go to the 3rd floor and search the rooms until you find the girl in the bathroom—you’ll automatically free her. Go down to the ground floor, walk into the restaurant, and close the door behind you. Shoot the man in the black suit, his companion, and his bodyguard. Hide your weapon, return to the lobby, and take the key to the manager’s office from the reception desk. Go to the top floor, shoot one man, take the money, and plant a bomb—leave the office immediately.

Escape across the rooftops: On the roof, turn right and climb onto the ledge. Run forward and climb the stairs to the top. Turn left, jump across the buildings and shoot the police officers. After shooting the sniper, turn left and climb down the wooden stairs. Climb the ladder to the next building, go down the staircase, and continue down.

Church: Interrupt the funeral—take cover behind the coffin and shoot from ambush. Clear the main nave of the church and the man with the Tommy gun upstairs. At the entrance, shoot the 3 men with shotguns. Get in the car in front of the church and return to Salieri’s Bar.

Tip: The man with the Tommy gun on the balcony is a priority—otherwise, he’ll shower you with bullets.

Objective: Rescue Sam at the country farm.

Take the car from Ralphie, drive to Hoboken to see Paulie—you’ll automatically head to a remote farm.

At the farm: Stick to the main road with your shotgun until you find the truck. The driver is dead — quickly shoot the 3 men with shotguns. Run back to the entrance (at least 4 men in the buildings on the left + 2 near the entrance). Talk to Paulie — he decides to rescue Sam.

Rescuing Sam: Go back; Paulie will head into the buildings on the right, then into the barn. Immediately shoot the 2 men, go up 2 floors, and shoot everyone. Sam is on the top floor—Paulie goes to get the truck; in the meantime, 2 police cars arrive. Shoot at the police officers from the barn window (note: one will break in from the stairs). Paulie will return — go outside and talk to him.

Shooting from the truck: Sit in the back with a Tommy gun, wait until the pursuing cars are close, and shoot them.

Tip: Don’t try to clear the entire farm. Run over to Paulie and return only to the barn—the mission will go faster.

Objective: Rescue Frank and find out where the ledgers are hidden.

Take the car from Ralphie and the pistol from Vincenzo. Drive around various locations in the city until you find out where the police are holding Frank. Chase their car to the airport.

At the airport: Immediately turn right to avoid an oncoming car. Enter the building with a shotgun and shoot the 3 men. Follow Frank out the back door. Shoot the agents—watch out for the 3 men in black suits in the hangar. Shoot the sniper on the tower to the left, then go right and forward. Find Frank (he’s being guarded by a man with a Tommy gun), shoot him, and talk to Frank. Push him against the pillar, shoot the man directly in front of you and the other two on the right. Go through the open door, talk to Frank’s family. Take the tickets from the first building and talk to Frank — he’ll reveal where the books are.

Drive to the bank and take the books. Then visit Bertone — beat up the bouncer at the club and learn how to steal the Thor 810. Return to Salieri’s bar.

Tip: When chasing a police car, keep a safe distance — don’t lose sight of it in heavy traffic.

Objective: Break into the villa in Oak Hills and steal the documents.

Visit Ralphie and Vincenzo, pick up Salvatore. Drive to Oak Hills and park at the marked spot. Try to open the gate—Salvatore will pick the lock for you.

Infiltration: Go left behind the statue and keep Salvatore hidden. Wait for the guard to pass — sneak up behind him and knock him out with a bat, then search him (key + shotgun). Go right and back to the entrance — the second man in the gazebo, take him out quietly. By the pool, the third guard — wait until he turns his back.

Inside the house: Bring Salvatore in, and immediately take out the maid before she turns on the lights or sounds the alarm. Don’t turn on any lights. Find the study with the safe—Salvatore will open it; take the documents. Go downstairs and take out the man at the front door. Get into the Silver Fletcher in front of the house and drive Salvatore home.

Objective: Protect William Gates and get the truck into the warehouse.

In the garage, go up to the top floor—that’s where you’ll meet Gates. Morello’s men will appear and a shootout will begin. Hide behind the nearest car and take out wave after wave of enemies. Fight your way down through the entire garage, then go back up and get into the truck.

Escape from the garage — two tactics:
1. Drive off immediately and evade the 2 pursuing cars + the police.
2. Before driving off, shoot the man and blow up both black cars — then drive off calmly.

Objective: Protect Salieri and eliminate the enemies in the restaurant.

Get into Salieri’s car and drive to Pepe’s restaurant. Upon entering , immediately take cover behind a table and shoot the two men on the right. Go to the back and kill the three men coming through the door. Go up the stairs, shoot the man with the Tommy gun, then shoot the enemies outside through the window. Go downstairs and exit through the back door into the side alley. Shoot the man outside, go out onto the main street, and finish off the rest.

Salieri wants to go to Carl’s apartment. Go there, follow Salieri up the stairs. Kick down the door, run to the window, and climb down the fire escape. A total of 4 men with bats and pistols—you can easily handle them with the Tommy gun.

Objective: Assassinate the politician on the ship.

Go to the docks. The guard won’t let you on board without an invitation—turn around, enter the building with the open door, go downstairs, and change into a sailor’s uniform.

On the ship: Go to the back right—find the men’s restroom and take the bucket. Go up one floor, find the door marked “Captain has the key.” Go downstairs, find the captain (blue-and-white striped jersey), and talk to him twice. Return to the locked restrooms, clean them out, take the pistol—hide it again . Return the key to the captain and the bucket to the first restroom.

Assassination: Climb to the top deck and wait for the politician to start his speech. Shoot him, then go down to the lower deck as quickly as possible, jump into the motorboat, and escape.

Objective: Eliminate Sergio Morell.

A series of three failed assassination attempts—a phone call from a booth, a bomb under the car, an attempt with a rifle. All fail, and you return to the bar.

Fourth attempt—the port: Carefully follow Sergio’s car to the port. Take cover behind a car and shoot the 4 men aiming at you. There are up to 20 armed men in the port—proceed slowly, stay to the left. Sergio’s car is parked by a large hall with closed rolling gates. Follow the railroad tracks and set the switches in the right direction. Remove the chock from the stationary railcar—it will roll forward and break through the gates. Get closer; the railcar will automatically explode. Enter the hall and kill Sergio and 5 other men.

Tip: Approach the switches cautiously, moving from cover to cover. The wagon’s stopper is a wooden wedge near the wheel.

Objective: Destroy Morello’s plane.

Visit Vincenzo for a weapon, then drive to the movie theater—Morello will leave just before you arrive. Chase his bulletproof limousine across the city to the airport. Your car will break down.

At the airport: Run around the left side of the building and shoot the 3 men with Tommy guns. Run straight to the departing plane and shoot at it as much as possible. Sam will arrive by car—get in and keep shooting. If you hit it enough, the plane will crash.

You’ll drive Sam and Paulie to the bar. Then visit Bertone—you’ll drive the car to the cliffs near Oakwood, push it over the edge, and learn how to steal a Celeste Marque 500.

Objective: Shoot the politician from the abandoned prison.

Visit Vincenzo for a sniper rifle, Ralphie for a car. Drive to the abandoned prison and park. Talk to the man at the sewer entrance and shoot him immediately—otherwise he’ll call the police. Climb down into the sewer and climb up into the prison.

Navigating the prison: Full of angry men with various weapons— enter room by room. First, shoot the dogs behind the barbed wire fence, then work your way up through the building. From the top floor, shoot the politician with a sniper rifle while he’s giving a speech—you have plenty of time, just one shot. Immediately after the shot, go straight down and out to the dogs. Shoot the lock on the gate and leave the prison.

Side Mission (Bertone): Drive his friend from the working-class neighborhood to Bertone’s. You’ll learn how to steal a Lassiter V16 Appolyon—go to Oak Hills, take out the two men by the car, and steal it.

Objective: Steal a shipment of cigars from the docks.

Ralphie has a special car. You’ll drive with Sam and Paulie to the designated meeting spot. Sam stays behind; you drive to the docks to wait for the truck. Follow it to the warehouse where the crates are being unloaded. Block its path and beat up the driver—take his ID and get into the truck.

At the docks: Pass through document control, drive straight to the warehouse. Talk to the man at the gate—he’ll ask you to stack the crates in the Shipping Hall. Park the truck with the front facing the crates of “Scorsese” cigars. Talk to the workers; they’ll help you move the crates. Go back to the man at the gate—he’ll leave. Quickly move all the cigar crates onto the truck and drive off to meet Sam and Paulie.

Shootout: A large group of attackers is coming—the best tactic: block the alley so they can only enter one at a time. After eliminating them all, drive the truck to the factory in Hoboken.

Objective: Rob a bank with Paulie.

Go to Paulie’s apartment and follow him to the train station, then to the First National Bank. Talk to him inside and outside—he’ll send you to get weapons and a car. Go to Yellow Pete in Hoboken (knock on the side door)—pick out a set of weapons.

Bank Heist: Paulie announces the robbery; the customers lie down. Shoot the guard coming up the stairs, then the guard harassing Paulie. Take the keys from the counter behind the employee. Go out the door where the guard was and go up the stairs. Shoot the guard upstairs, find the manager, and talk to him. Take the second key from the cabinet on the wall. Go back downstairs, open the gate, and shoot the two patrol guards. Go to the vault—the scene shows Tommy filling a bag with money. Quickly run back upstairs and out of the bank.

Objective: Survive the final confrontation at the Art Gallery.

Tommy arrives at Paulie’s apartment—the door is ajar. Paulie is dead, the money is gone. The phone rings—it’s Sam. He informs Tommy that Salieri has learned of their plan and has ordered their execution.

At the Art Gallery: You enter the building and the final shootout begins. You fight Salieri’s men scattered throughout the gallery—shotguns, Tommy guns, and snipers. Proceed cautiously from room to room. At the top, the final confrontation with Sam awaits you.

Epilogue

After completing the mission, the epilogue plays: Tommy finishes his story to Detective Norman and explains how he took his family and fled the country. The epilogue concludes the entire story with an unexpected final scene—Tommy is in the garden of his home in Empire Bay when a car pulls up and two men get out.

Salieri ordered Tommy’s murder even from behind bars. Vito Scaletta and Joe Barbaro carry out the order in 1951—thus bringing Tommy Angelo’s fate to a close.
